Old North Church: Beyond the Lantern Signal

Approaching the nation’s 250th anniversary, Old North Church is working to ensure visitors look beyond the single moment of hanging lantern signals in April 1775.

Nikki Stewart is the executive director of Old North Church Illuminated, an independent nonprofit that manages and funds the church. She explained that while the historic signaling that showed the British Redcoats were coming was a brief act, the site boasts almost three centuries of deep interconnected history.
