What’s The Scoop With Whale Poop?

Last year, Danielle Dillon was on a research mission in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean collecting valuable specimens – three samples of right whale poop.

After locating the orange sludge floating on the surface, she scooped it into a container using a net and quickly placed it on ice to preserve it. This isn’t a random project — it’s how scientists discover the stories of right whales.
